Well I am home, sorry I didn't get right back to what was happening. Well the Gallbladder has been removed and the next day they went back in with a scope through my mouth to remove a 1 cm gall stone that was lodged in my bile duct that leads from the liver to the small intestines. Then it was a day for recovery and finally home. I have 5 small punctures from the Gallbladder surgery which are healing fine. No stitches just glue and those no stitch tape to close the wounds. The one just above my belly button is the largest and still some what sore 10 days later. My family doctor is amazed at how quickly I am healing and back to my regular day. I did take it easy, my husband took last week off to help me at home with the day-home kids so I didn't lift anyone but this week I have been doing it all on my own. Today was a big test as it snowed and I had no choice but shovel my drive way and steps for the parents. I only did half my driveway as it is huge and can fit 3 cars in it. Wasn't to bad but a little strenuous.

The hardest part has been getting back into my school work. I was hoping that I would have my schedule worked out before I started full swing with all the kids since that first week of the New Year I only had 2 children here but of course that is when I ended up in the hospital. So slowly I am getting it done. It is a little hard as the 2 littlest ones are being difficult. My grandson plays fine and doesn't need me to entertain him but the little girl I watch has a crying fit every time I get up from the coach to go out of the room. Need to some how break that habit of hers as it makes a very noise house and difficult for me to make lunch let alone go to the bath room or check on the older children. Think it is a form of separation anxiety but from what her parents say she does it at home too.

So far the classes I am taking are very much review for me but that was intentional. I wanted to take it slow so I could get everything to work in my life. I am learning some neat things about Windows 10 that I was not aware of before. There are some neat features with it now which will come in handy with taking notes while I read my textbook since it is all online. I prefer taking notes on the laptop then writing them down, tend to retain the information better that way as I know from previous experience.

I have a BIG crop this Saturday and can't wait for tomorrow, I so need the time to create. I will try to remember to take pictures and everything for my next Blog post. Then I need to start doing some individual crafting posts. As well as be creative for a Blog Hop I hope to be involved in. Might work on some of that on Sunday.

Well God Bless you all and have a marvelous Weekend!!Drayiahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08898527598865286663noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5838134730875219357.post-82134441829742905542019-01-05T09:00:00.000-07:002019-01-05T09:00:05.967-07:00Life HappensI had every intention of a new post with some great photos and then BAM life happens. As of right now I am sitting in a hospital room waiting for surgery. Not sure what day that will happen on but was told to expect to be here until Monday. Right now I am being monitored and will have additional blood work in the morning to see how my liver function is. But here is the kicker, my liver is not the problem my Gallbladder is. Either there is a Gallbladder stone in the bile duct blocking the liver from functioning correctly or my Gallbladder is enlarge to the point it is narrowing the bile duct from the liver causing it to malfunction. Either way the Surgeon has said my Gallbladder has to come out. Since all my pictures on at home on my computer I can only write a post from the hospital on my laptop.

I have yet to hear how this will change my lifestyle but I know it will. I know there are foods I can no longer have, and others that will be limited. I LOVE food and to cook or bake so I am a little sad by this. But excited too because some of what I have read talks about experiencing weight-loss after the surgery. That to me is a plus LOL.

If have a private room in the Maternity ward which is strange to me to be in with all the new mom's and babies. Its pretty quite amazingly. But then, hopefully the babies are all sleeping so the moms can get some rest too. Also due to it being Flu season there are no visitors allow under the age of 16 and only 2 at a time per room. That helps keep the noise down too I am sure.

Well I should probly get back to my school work since I have uninterrupted time currently. God Bless you all and I will posted again, hopefully after the surgery with an update. Hopefully I can get back to the craft blogs soon!!Drayiahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08898527598865286663noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5838134730875219357.post-91230060576218460042019-01-03T13:00:00.000-07:002019-01-03T13:00:01.121-07:00Christmas T-ShirtsDecember was a hard month. My numbers in my day-home are down and that puts quite the squeeze on extra spending let alone needed spending. My saving grace is the fact I teach classes at Michaels and have a discount on all I buy there. This year I figured I would make everyone their presents.

I own a Cricut Maker and Easy Press so I figured that everyone will get T-shirts. I made about 3 each for my 2 youngest daughters, one for my eldest daughter and for her husband, my son-in-law.

Now V loves Dragons and to Read, she is a voracious reader. For her shirts I looked around for some quotes and different Dragon images. The first is done using Cricut Gold Foil HTV and Sisser Green Glitter HTV. Wyrm is another way of saying Dragon. It really is a play on words :) The next shirt is a done with Sisser Black Glitter HTV. The words and images were cut out using the Cricut Maker and adhered to the shirts with the Cricut Easy Press.
C on the other hand loves Unicorns, horses and Alacorns(winged unicorns). The first shirt is Cricut Black HTV and Cricut Mulicolour Glitter HTV. The blue T-shirt has an Iron-on decal from Cricut on it and the final shirt is made with Cricut Gold Foil HTV, Cricut Purple, Pink and Aqua Glitter HTV.

These were so much fun to make and the girls loved them. Unfortunately I did not get pictures of the ones I made for the adults but they too were enjoyed and made specifically with their interests top of mind. M was a Griffondor logo from Harry Potter and my son-in-law was one of his favourite quotes from Father Ted, a TV show in Ireland.

I also put names on small stockings for each of my day home children and I am currently working on putting their name on stuffies for Valentines day. I have many other projects that I have either created for trade shows, ones planned and others that need to be completed.

Stay tuned for more pictures of my work and things available for sale! God Bless

January brings a NEW Close To My Heart catalog. The Seasonal Expressions and it is down right amazing! Jeanette, the founder and CEO of CTMH is celebrating 35 years of creativity and running this incredible company. From the beginning where she crafted stamps in her kitchen and sold them at trade shows to the International company it is today. Check out the link below for the catalog.

Other big new for me is that I am starting School! I will be taking my Bachelor of Management in Human Resources and Management. Thankfully I am able to take it online through an accredited University here in Alberta and still remain at home running my Day Home. It will take me longer then if I went to the local University but the fact I still need to work while I study was the deciding factor on what institution I selected. So my already busy life is about to get busier.

As of April of 2018 I am teaching night classes at Michaels on how to use the Cricut Explore and Maker machines with Cricut software Design Space. So far I have run about 20 classes and they seem to be successful. I start again on Monday January 7 with my Basic Design Space class for all the new owners of Cricut cutters. I really enjoy teaching these classes and designing the content for each. This year I have several Maker only classes to teach as the Maker has several blades/features not found on or available to the Explore line. This means I need to learn how to use a sewing machine, LMAO. But I love the challenge.

Lastly, I am hopeful that I will be involved with a CTMH Stamp of the Month Blog Hop that has consultants involved from all across Canada. I really need to get back in the game when it comes to my paper crafting, it kind of fell by the wayside during 2018.

So all that I need to do now is make a schedule and stick to it to accomplish everything I have committed myself too. Of course I have other goals in mind and may share them with you during a future post. God Bless and have a Happy New Years Day!!
I am still with Close To My Heart, celebrated 5 years in August of 2017. Gone through many ups and downs with building my business with them. But I am currently on an upswing and hopefully be able to keep it there. I have several people join my team and then leave, now I am rebuilding again. The next couple that I will be working with are all in different small towns. This means that coaching them and teaching them might be difficult if it wasn't for technology today. There are so many different ways now to connect with people in different areas of the country or world, it is simply amazing. I will use appear.in, I have my own channel there that is completely private that I can then show them different techniques, how to use tools etc.

Besides building my team I am also working on the class or customer side of my business. I have finally found a location that I can hold once a month all day crops at no cost. It is at a local Church, they just rebuilt their building and have a beautiful kitchen/multipurpose room for me to use. It has been great so far. I plan to donate a bunch of my supplies that I no longer use for their kids to craft with. It will be my thank you to them. It has been slow to get people there but each month I increase by one or two.

I have a huge event planned for NSD this year! So far I have had great interest, now I just need people to register and pay the fee and it will officially be GREAT. I have several draws planned from other local Direct Sellers to help them reach new customers too. So far 7 different companies will be represented. All proceeds from the sale of tickets for the draws will go to Operation Smile, which is a CTMH charity to help fix dental issues in 3rd world countries. The event will also be catered. I am super excited for this as I have been trying for the last 5 years to have one of these.

Next I will fill you in on other neat opportunities that have started happening for me.

Much creating has gone on and trying different mediums. Ended up very busy with teaching classes, trade shows and growing my Close To My Heart business. Not sure what changed but it took off like crazy and left me spinning. Was just able to keep up with other commitments I was in but unfortunately this fell by the wayside. Currently in the process of designing a web page that will include my business and my blog all into one, once I have a link to share with you I will post it here and you can follow along on the ups and downs of me learning how to design, create and post my site. Should be an exciting adventure and hope to have it somewhat running by February.

God Bless and thank you for sticking with me even when I seem to disappear
One of my Fav. Ladies on www.scrapbook.com is Martica. She always does the most amazing swaps. This time the challenge was to use Graphic 45 Secret Garden paper line. When I first read what she had in mind I brain started to pop all kinds of ideas into my head. It was to be an altered Shadow Box. I called my LSS to see if they had this paper set in and when told no went online to find it with the best shipping costs. Of course http://www.shop.scraputante.com/ had it and they got my order. Not only that but I had ordered part of the matching embellishments from another store and when my order arrived it did not contain the items order, when I called about it was informed that they were out of stock and sorry we will credit you back for charging you for them. So 2 days later I order the embellishments from scraputante too and they combined my order for me. Meanwhile as I wait patiently, 14 days, for the pp to arrive, which I have yet to see in person, the flowers I ordered from www.iamroses.com arrived and me crossing my fingers that they will match. Next I headed over to Michael's to purchase a Shadow box, I chose a wooden one that was slightly larger then the required size. I really wanted the sturdiness of wood as I was going to sand it, paint it, mod pod it and do some paper mache to LOL.

First on how I came up with this design. I LOVE to read, it transports me to a different world that I see very vividly. I wanted to do a little girls room where the garden came to life around her as she reads A Secret Garden. I chose a pp that looked like wall paper you might find in a little girl's room. Next came the tree that I made out of paper mache and then had to print,of course half way done the tree and my DH says to me "why did you not use modeling clay" Duh that would of been so much easier. Once the tree was done and dry I could start on everything else. The CB die cut of a princess is from DCWV Once Upon a Time series, I covered it in double sided tape and then glittered it :D. Next I took to flower sprays, one from Prima and one I think for Reflections and twisted them around a pencil to add flowering vines. I cut a Styrofoam ball in half and then flattened one side and glued it in the opposite corner of the tree. I covered the entire bottom in Spanish moss, what a messy product to use. Then it was time to layer everything. There are charms all over this, different bird charms, a watch charm from The Girls' paperie Vintage whimsy line, bird in nest from Webster's pages, and in the right bottom corner a old locket finding from Michael's. The wooden swirl was in my stash from a different project so I pulled it out and gave it a sparkle finish. The cherry blossom twigs are Reflections and then the bling flourishes you can just make out are from Prima. Plus all the layered flowers, most from iamroses, plus there are some great crocete ones that my friend Penny made for me that I HAD to include. I added bling centers to them.

Here you can see in better detail the moss, flowers, locket and bird with the glitter princess in back. I love how the layered work looks and that it seems like the garden is coming out to embrace you.

The wooden flourish, watch charm and bling. Plus you can just make out the flowered branch I put on the top of the box.

I had to take a picture of this tree so you could see that it did take some time and turned out not too bad. It has been to many years to count since the last time I made paper mache.

Of course I had to decorate the top and as you can see I added another bird's nest that has little eggs in it with a little bird perched on the side.

Decorated the back and use some wonderful trim from Prima, I receive 2 rolls of this silver trim from different swaps. You can just make out the Card on the back that is from the matching embellishments for this pp set.

I really enjoyed make this and watching my vision come to life. I know several of the ladies in the swap are struggling and not enjoying this pp line as much as they thought but for me it was easy. Maybe that is because it happens just like I made it when I read :D

God Bless you all and until my next post keep crafting!Drayiahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08898527598865286663noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5838134730875219357.post-91806731669961118152013-04-26T06:41:00.001-06:002013-04-26T06:41:41.125-06:00SewEasy Winner!!Hello Lesly you have won the SewEasy, please contact me with your mailing address so I may mail it out to you!!

These past 2 weeks have been a nightmare for craziness, LOL. First there was the Breast Cancer Event at my job that I needed to finish organizing, get donations for door prizes, and alert the media of the event. Then of course it all fell apart the night of the Event, first one of the other vendors had a family emergency and had to travel 1 1/2 hours back home and the other person that was helping ended up terribly sick with the flu. Then one of the local TV stations called to see if they could film some footage so had to run around trying to get mall approval. Finally after all the work put into the event only 7 people showed up to shop and take advantage of the incredible deals the company put on.

Today its all about getting ready for the Diva's Women Trade Show I am in. Need to pack up my catalogs, current projects, print off sign up sheets for classes, make sure I have the door prize and table prize packed up, print off draw sheets then load it all into the Van. Really hoping that I have a better response then last time and can get some customers. If not will have to really think about the next one in Oct. and whether it is really worth it or not.

Tomorrow and Sunday will be all about getting some Blog post done of the great things I have been creating and setting them up to post. I have some wonderful pictures taken and I am hoping to inspire some of you with some of it.

Have a wonderful day all and God Bless!Drayiahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08898527598865286663noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5838134730875219357.post-25076149262348293182013-04-19T07:12:00.000-06:002013-04-19T07:12:25.660-06:00So SorryI know I have not posted in a while, I also had issues creating. DT submission is getting me down and my creative juices/mojo fled. Then had a major computer crash and lost all my pictures. However in the last couple of weeks/days I have been crafting like mad. Not sure if it is the Spring weather or some of the great products I have received or the Challenges I have entered but I feel like I am back in the game. Not only that but I received a email today that Spellbinders has their new 2013-2014 DT call happening. This weekend/week should be busy as I sit and try to decided what I want to make. Do I submit a card, LO or altered work. Any suggestions from my followers would be much appreciated. I also have a draw for you.

I did a review of this product last year and love it. So I have one with 3 decorative heads to give away. To be entered you need to follow my Blog and it is open until Apr. 25. I will contact the winner on Apr. 26th.

Thanks for staying with me and God Bless!

UGH sometimes I wonder if it is a waste of time. There is sooo much talent out there and I am still such a beginner compared to the majority of the women I know/watch. Eventually someone will be willing to take a chance on me, I hope. :D In the mean time I will continue to create and share my talent with you as well as the great finds and stupid buys I make LOL.

One of the Ladies I know from www.scrapbook.com was on a DT with Scraputante. They are having a 12x12 DT call, which she let me know about before it was issued. LOVE my friends for enabling me. Well this site carries paper and embellishments I don't have nor that I have access too. I went to their site www.shop.scraputante.com to put in a order. Well I choose some things from their clearance section because I have never ordered from them before and in was just before Christmas so a little short on funds. I ordered with grab bags, Anna Griffin, Bella Blvd and Basic Grey.

Here is the Basic Grey package, there are 2 of every piece of paper you see here as well as the package of die cuts and cs alpha stickers. The value is $20+ but only cost $10. Great deal.

This one is Bella Blvd, again 2 pieces of each paper plus 2 sheets of cs stickers, set of acrylic stamps and fabric flowers. Again $20 value+ value for $10.

And finally the Anna Griffin package. I have never seen her product before and was thrilled with the quality of the paper. Several pieces have raised velvet designs on it, one has gold foil and there are 2 sets of die cut 12x12 sheets not to mention the package of photo mats and 3D flower stickers.

So not only was the value and price amazing but the shipping costs I was charge was mind blowing. I was charged $2.40 flat rate shipping yet when the package arrived it cost her $12.50 to mail. That is incredible customer service and encourages me not only to shop there again but to encourage all of you to do the same! Oh and one last thing at no charge she threw in a package of Pop its squares. I am hoping to soon have a blog badge from them on my blog so you can link direct to them :D

Alright now to go and start crafting so I can hopefully submit to their DT unless I missed the deadline which is always possible LOL.Drayiahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08898527598865286663noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5838134730875219357.post-15511493773353814392013-01-13T15:44:00.001-07:002013-01-13T15:44:40.605-07:00New Advent Calendar Sorry I missed posting on Friday but I was trying to finish the new Advent Calendar I started before Christmas. All that remains for me to do is the boxes so I took pictures of it and are going to share them with you. Yes I know its January but I figured if I finished this project and shared it I was one step closer to being finished my Christmas crafts for 2013 :D

Here is my new Advent Calendar, this is made using Kaisers Crafts Advent Calendar kit. People are always asking me if I have a theme colour for my tree and the answer is no. My children decorate the Christmas Tree so its their creation. On the other hand I am working on a theme with all my other Christmas decorations. I LOVE snowflakes. Plus if you looked at my large picture Advent Calendar then you will notice I used Blue colours and Snowflakes on that one as well. First I painted all the pieces blue, I tried a sparkly blue but it was more a stain then a colour and I wanted colour. I then assembled all the parts and flipped it over to glue it all together. I used Arlene's tacky glue. Before I assembled the pieces I did adhere card stock to the back board. I used several different embellishments here and I will try to list them all. Of course there is Prima Say it with Crystals, snowflakes, Snowflake buttons by Reflections, Snowflake on silver ribbon trim from the Dollar Store, white flowers from www.iamroses.com , incredible ribbon roses wrapped with pearls trim from my wonderful pal Lorna Lee and I believe that Butterfly is Prima winter collection.

Here is a close up of the corner, the Mod Pod is still drying on the Crystals. There are a mixture of paper and fabric flowers here as well as the fact I added Icicle Stickles to the flowers to add glitter. The white Pointsettas are from Prima, up the inside you can see Snowflake stickers these are Jolene.

And a close up of the Bow that I made. Again the ribbon is blue with white sparkly snowflakes on it. There is so much you could do with these kits and a friend of mine makes them and sells them on etsay. She does amazing work and sent me this one for me to make. I love my colours I chose and the simple style I used to make it. Now all I need to do is finish the boxes, put it away until next year and start on the next project.

God Bless until next time :DDrayiahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08898527598865286663noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5838134730875219357.post-84215301571844644682013-01-09T06:31:00.000-07:002013-01-09T06:31:05.996-07:002013 Scrap Area

In the eternal search for the perfect place to scrap I moved my room out of the little cubby area and in to my Laundry room. I tripled my space but am more spread out.

I am more spread out now due to all the space, I share it with my freezer as well as the washer and dryer. Laundry is now getting done more regularly otherwise I can not make it to my work desk. I have added a couple of new storage/counter areas. We put both our little girls in the same bedroom so there was an extra desk. You can see I used it for my Cricut cutting area. On the cupboard side I placed my CTMH stamp organizer. The top drawer holds all my Carts, which will soon have 4 more there. Friend of mine was cleaning out her scrap room and wanted to get rid of a few which are no longer available so I bought them. The second drawer I placed all my cutting mats. In the cupboard I have stored all my CTMH embellishments and stamp sets. The other piece I added you can see is the rolling kitchen rack. Again picked up second hand from a friend at no charge. The top is not cleaned off in this picture but it holds my large cutter which I seriously need to order replacement blades for. The baskets are great for all kinds of things, I believe I have my scor-pal on there and my iTop container as well as the container that holds all my twine for sewing on projects. Plus there are 2 Clip-it Up ribbon holders. Finally have all my ribbon out of containers. Hope that will encourage me to use it more often on cards and LOs. Of course you can see my wall and shelve that is covered in projects that were made for me, unfortunately you can not see the area where I hung all the wonderful ornaments that others made as well, the lamp is in the way.

Under the stairs is a little area that originally we used for storage but when our landlady finally moved everything out of the garage we were able to move it there instead. That white book case is full of magazines for both scrap booking and Cross Stitch. I fully intend to get rid of them all this year. I plan to go through the cross stitch ones and remove any of the patterns I want then into recycling it goes. Here is my large wall unit that holds so much paper and other tools. Plus of course a huge paper rack which is nearly full. The tubs on top of the wall unit hold all my embellishments organized by season and Holiday. There is just enough room there for me to be able to sit down and look at all the paper while choosing the design/style I want in a LO or card.

Here is a picture looking from my dryer. The small desk up against the wall holds my Grand Calibur and Big Shot. In the Shelves are their dies or I should say all my Spellbinder Dies as I don't really use anyone elses. Plus I have my idea books from CTMH there as well. On top of the shelve are mini albums that pals have sent me as well as the one and only one I ever made. Its the red and black one :D The mesh cube unit holds all my CTMH pps right now as well as my trinkets and flowers collections. Its still a work in progress and is by no means going to stay like this or here. But for the next couple of years, unless we move, this will be my crafty home. I look forward to the day one or both my teens move out and I can take over one of their rooms. Then I will have natural light and SPACE. I hope we can purchase this home when that happens because I want to make some major changes to the room I use as a scrap room.

Have a productive, creative day and God Bless!Drayiahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08898527598865286663noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5838134730875219357.post-59352208583800310162013-01-07T06:40:00.003-07:002013-01-07T06:40:50.636-07:00Ah 2013Good morning my crafty friends, Thank you so much for sticking with me during the Holidays when things were just a wee bit crazier then normal and I did not get my post done.

With the New Year we all tend to make resolutions, I have chosen this year to set goals and check back on them every 3 months to see how I am doing. I figure that way I will stay more on top of things. My goals include both craft ones and personal ones.

1. Do at least one LO a week, I am in a challenge on scrapbook.com so this is a must.
2. Use my CTMH stamps on more then just their projects.
3. Exercise daily, again this is a must, I am not happy with my body size and figure a lot of my issue I am having are weight related.
4. Spend more quality time with my family, put them FIRST.
5. Be more like Christ in my life, study his teachings and teach them to my children.

For me the last 2 are extremely important, with the horrible things ppl are doing to each other in this world, and the atrocities we are seeing committed to the innocence I feel the need to do more to strength my family and our belief in Christ. The world has change so much since I was a child and the biggest one that seems to hurt us as a society most is the fact we have taken God out of our schools. Our children are growing up with no moral ideas, no understand of right and wrong. Now as parents are we at fault too, of course we are. But at least when we missed teaching something to our children the schools were there to give our children those lessons. Alright I am now done with my non-scrappy chat.

I always make a wish list each year and review how I did on my previous year's one. I did really well in 2012 on my wish list as well as a couple of extras just like I do every year. Plus in a later post you will see I have a new tool review for you. So first I wanted to get the Raspberry Plate for my Grand Calibur which I did receive and works great. I had to order it from Spellbinders directly but that was ok. I love my Grand Calibur but it did gather some dust this year :D Next was Spellbinder dies, well I did get more of these including some of the cut and fold ones and their new embossing folders. Very excited and must make it a priority to use these at least once a month. On to the Martha Stewart Punches, I did pick up a couple and received a couple in different swaps. I continue to love these and use them randomly. I still have not picked up a digital camera, really haven't even researched them yet, but I did get a NEW COMPUTER!! And what a beaut it is, way more power then I need at this time but I should not need to upgrade for at least 5 years+ depending on what components I can switch out as needed. Also became a Close To My Heart Consultant so traded my personal Cricut for a E2, and so glad I did. I used it more since August then I did my personal Cricut which I had for 5 years. I also picked up a Big Shot. Now I bought that before the E2 so I could cut the thicker dies that are used for boxes which now that I have the E2 I don't need LOL. Not sure at this time if I will sell the Big Shot or keep it. Only time will tell.

So now I need a Wish list for 2013

1. Digital Camera
2. This will be here for sometime, a scrap room.
3. Small table and chairs, this is for my little girls to join me in my crafting
4. Design Team, I so want to be on one and play with new products and share my talents with others.

Small list for this year but I have been so blessed last year to get a lot of the things I want. This year will be more about personal and crafting growth then getting supplies. Also my LSS closed so a lot of what I get is from the States and that has slowed down now that I am a Consultant. I tend to spend my extra cash there or on Pal swaps. This year I need to use more of my stash then accumulate :D I am sure that is true for most of us but I am making it a goal for me.

Well thanks for reading this post and sticking it out this long. No pictures but the link was not letting me do what I wanted. I could not download pictures from my computer which is weird and I hope a glitch this morning. Hope to have my next post for you in 2 days with a LO including Pictures LOL.
God Bless you all and have a wonderful day.Drayiahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08898527598865286663noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5838134730875219357.post-89275243079047049982012-11-07T01:00:00.000-07:002013-04-19T07:13:32.492-06:00September SOTMFor the last year I have been trying to find a group to learn new techniques, now I know there are plenty of YouTube videos out there but really I don't want to spend all my time watching videos when I can be playing with my scrappy stuff. I did join a Stamp'in Up group but was not a fan of their product, had to purchase $25 worth of their stuff which was hard when I don't like something. Then of course I became a Close To My Heart Consultant because I LOVE their product and was getting discouraged that every time I applied to a Design Team I was told no. Well my desire to finally learn new techniques is happening. Also most on a monthly bases I learn something I never knew or try something I hadn't done before. This month was CTMH's new alcohol based markers and blending techniques.

Here is the LO for Sept. The word patch was cut out on my cricut once in cream and second in brown, same size both times and then just slightly miss aligned so you can see its shadow. I then pop dot them up for more affect. Also got to use burlap ribbon for the first time too, boy is that stuff is messy but what a neat texture it adds . I also used my SewEasy to punch the straight holes around the page and twine to stitch it. The small tag is also cut using the cricut and is just waiting for a date to be posted on it once the pictures are added. The pumpkins are stamped and then coloured using CTMH markers and blended, I then fussy cut them out and pop dotted them up too. Now I did not get a picture of my girls at the pumpkin patch this year so this will have to wait until next years photos.Drayiahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08898527598865286663noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5838134730875219357.post-73132809483047031982012-11-05T06:00:00.000-07:002012-11-05T06:00:14.190-07:00Altered giftsGood morning all my crafty friends!! There are several websites I talk about regularly on here and one of the ones I am most active on is www.scrapbook.com I am very active on that site as a daily poster. My full gallery is on there of work I have done in the last 7 years. Most of the swaps I do now are pal swaps or altered swaps. This one group I am in is a 3 month commitment and for those 3 months you send you secret pal a $25 scrappy gift plus any extras you would like to send. This last sister that I had I spoiled, she was a fellow Canadian and I also made her an amazing set for her desk.

This is the Journal that I made. All CS is DCWV the Sweet Treats stack. The fabric on the binding is from Walmart. Everything is done in pink and brown which is a beautiful combination of colours. I used a beaded and lace trim from my stash with a matching beaded trim to run down the journal between the paper and fabric. The little bronze plaque says "Friends" I punched a hole in both the front and back cover for the ribbon closer. Flower spray, pink ribbon bow and heart trinket all from my stash. Added a jeweled stickpin to the ribbon flower.
So elegant and feminine.

Here is the matching stationary box. This is an altered cigar box and the CS is DCWV Luxury stack. Again I lined the box with fabric and CS, the lace has a pink trim and the braid is also pink both of which I received from Lorna Lee on sb.com. The butterfly, flower, and fabric and lace flowers are from my stash and some that I bought from www.laceheaven.com Again added a stickpin which is the matching one to the Journal.

I made about a dozen matching cards to go in the box. I did not have enough fabric to line the bottom because I cut the fabric wrong :( but normally that would also be lined.

I LOVED making this set and I am surprised at how quickly I can make this all at once. I love it when an idea comes to such sweet fruition and the finished project looks better then the one in your mind.

I have a new little sister to make something for and the last month is December, I am thinking an ornament but not sure what else yet. Have a wonderful day and God Bless :D
Drayiahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08898527598865286663noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5838134730875219357.post-64305882862919883602012-11-02T06:31:00.001-06:002012-11-02T06:31:39.438-06:00Lost PostSeems that I lost my Halloween Post. Not completely surprised as I had an insane week trying to get everything done. Of course things have not slowed down completely yet. Well I was getting all my post done and scheduled too, I was also making cards and packaging them to sell at my first trade show. First I had to make 100 cards as bag stuffers for the first 100 people through the door, then I had to make some to sell(which I did not sell any of LOL). Next I had to make a Christmas Advent Calendar as a display, now originally I had a partner for the show but she got a new full time job and ended up sick so was not able to attend with me. It was her job to make the Advent Calendar, she dropped it off at my house the night before the show, UGH. Got it all done in the morning and then proceeded to pack up for the show. Also had to make a draw basket so people could enter to win the Advent Calendar. Once all packed up and everything was in the van I then needed to get ready :D

Well I get there, and start setting up when the lady running the show comes over and tells me I won a prize for best bag stuffer!? I didn't even know there was one LOL. Apparently it was decide that I won because I handmade a hundred cards. I explained to the woman that that is what my business is and I thought the idea was to showcase my business for the stuffers. She said it was amazing and I get first dibs on a table at the next trade show as well as a discount price. I thought that was pretty cool but at the time was not sure if I would do another one. It really depended on the response I got that night. Well let me tell you it was amazing. over 400 women were at the show and I got a ton of new contacts, which I need to start calling now that Halloween is done. The next show is in May in time for Mother's day so I am thinking of making a 100 little purses or a flower box. I have to check out my Cricut Cartridge and choose something amazing that will get people calling me. Plus need to make a bunch of altered journals to sell, was told by several ladies that they would by them if I had them. They saw mine there as I use it to take notes and things when it comes to my business of Close to My Heart.

Well I think I have bored you enough and it is time to start up with my more crafty posts again. Check out my next one as it will that gorgeous set I made for a pal. :D
Have a crafty day and God Bless.Drayiahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08898527598865286663noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5838134730875219357.post-67707024107488827542012-10-31T01:00:00.000-06:002013-04-19T07:14:53.211-06:00Moonlight WOTGI know that I said I would have an incredible project to show you that I made for a pal but it is Halloween and choose to share with you this great Halloween LOs and Bonus project. I can't wait to take pictures of my little girls and put them on these pages.

I always start first by reading the directions then cutting out the CS. Then I sort it all out and get ready to stamp. This LO required not only stamping but fussy cutting too. I really don't like to fussy cut but have to admit if I had some of the elements on the page would not pop the way they do. Unfortantly that does not transfer well in a photo. I cut a piece of orange CS like a ribbon then stamped it with the web boader, I also used the same stamp on some of the purple CS. I then added the little stamped spider hanging of the web. The mummy and letters for boo are stamped then cut out. You cant tell here but the mummy is coloured using CTMH alcohol markers in Smoky Plum. Itty bitty rhinestones are added to the spiders eye as well as the skull brads to adde some sparkle. Used black rhinestones on the letters.

Now this one was fun to stamp. I had to line up the letters for Halloween and because I only have on "l"and one "e" I had to restamp those letters in the right postion. The lamp post is also a stamp, for the lamp and sign portion I stamped those seperatly and coloured them then cut them out and applied them to the lamp post. Looks great, neat technique but a pain and depending on what you are doing time consuming. Same treatment to the skull brads as the first LO. Oh and I almost forgot, I destressed the black CS to add more depth, love the fact it is white core so very noticeable.

Here they are just waiting for this years costume pictures. I am really enjoying working with CTMH stamps and paper. Drayiahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08898527598865286663noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5838134730875219357.post-50465044829555909062012-10-29T01:00:00.000-06:002012-10-29T01:00:02.072-06:00Butterfly KissesAs most know from following my blog I LOVE DCWV!! Even now when I should be buying CTMH CS I still am purchasing from my favourite pp company :D . Earlier I had posted about a swap I was in that is 12x12 LO and I did a winter one, well I was also to do one for spring.

All CS used of course is DCWV from their Spring Fling Stack both printed and solids. The title is done using their new Shimmer stack and cut on the Cricut Princess Cartridge. I ran the letters through my xryon 1.5 sticker maker so they would be easy to apply. The yellow strip is also from the Shimmer stack, you know me has to have some glitter/sparkle some how :D . The little pink flower is a foam one from my stash, the jeweled butterfly strip is from Reflections continuous strip cut for the length I wanted. I took a short length of tulle in pink and tied a knot in it, then using my pliers I put a swirl in the bottom of a stick pin that I had tied in said knot.

The requirements for the LOs was 2 photo mats at 4x6, Journal spot and embellished 3 times. With the second pg of the LO I added a beautiful stamped image of a butterfly by CTMH. Cut out a folder with my Cricut using the Artiste Cart that again is exclusive to CTMH. Found some need hot pink netting in my stash and added that as well as the dangle bead drop which I believe I picked up from Michael's.

When I think Spring it brings to mind images of flowers, bees and butterflies. I think the bright colours and combination of pps make this a nice reminder of Spring.

Wait until you see the next blog post and the beautiful set I made for a pal.

Keep Crafting and Dream my friends, anything is possible as long as we believe! God Bless you all.Drayiahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08898527598865286663noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5838134730875219357.post-34910216254066674542012-10-27T01:00:00.000-06:002012-10-27T01:00:11.224-06:00Artiste CollectionClose To My Heart has join up with Cricut to offer 2 exclusive Cartridges that offers 700 different images which include themed projects, cards, fonts, shapes and 3D images. Scattered throughout the Idea Book are many My Acrylix stamp images that are out lined in red. What this means is the stamp corresponds with a shape either on the Art Philosophy or the new Artiste cartridge. Not only does the stamp correspond with the Cartridge but it says what size it needs to be cut out at to make the image fit perfectly!
Now when I knew I was going to sign up with CTMH I figure I would need to upgrade my personal Cricut but $400 for a new Expressions 2 was a little over the top as I barly used my personal one. Then one day someone on Facebook was selling a New In Box E2 for $170. I was all over it and turned around and sold my personal one for $80. I am so happy that I did and I will post later a review of the E2. I have used the E2 with every project for CTMH that I have done, so since August I have used it more then I did the entire time, 6 years, I had my personal one LOL.

Now if you order the Artiste Collection not only do you receive the Cartridge but you also get 3 My Acrylix D-size Stamp Sets and 3 12x9 Dimensional Elements in coordinating shapes.
So a value of nearly $125 for only $99. not including shipping and tax.

So this time not only did CTMH design stamps for this cartridge and the Art Philosophy one but they also design 2 workshops that require the Cartridge.

Here is the one I purchase and wanted to make. Every piece of paper is cut using the Artiste Collection. They recommend 6 hours to complete this project and most of that time is cutting. The stamp set that is exclusive to this workshop is a very cute Halloween set of course. I enjoyed putting this all together and seeing the diversity of images on the cart. It was defiantly worth purchase the cart for and have a TON of ideas now for making my girls Birthday parties more interesting and I can't wait for them to start school because I will be able to make wonderful items for their classmates for different holiday party's.

Even if you are not into stamping these 2 Carts are well worth the price to purchase. There is so much on them and ways to use the different projects too. Contact me if interested and I ship to the States too :D

Have a wonderful day Crafting, God Bless.Drayiahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08898527598865286663noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5838134730875219357.post-78400404318223143382012-10-25T01:00:00.000-06:002012-10-25T01:00:18.744-06:00Tool ReviewOne of the most important purchases a paper crafter can make is their cutter/trimmer. I have tried 3 different ones and up until recently used my trimmer by Cricut. It has a pull out ruler so you can measure 12x12 pp on it. Makes great cuts but over time, I have used it for 5 years, the cuts are not always straight anymore. The problem I have found is the blade scores in a plastic grove and over time this grove gets cut up and is no longer straight so the blade doesn't run straight anymore. So the hunt was on for a new trimmer/cutter. Now in that 5 year span I have also purchase as 12x12 trimmer by Fiskers as well as several smaller trimmer for pictures again one is Fiskers and one is Wescott. All of them are OK but not what I was looking for. Then one day as I am searching and researching cutters I receive an email from www.scrapsteals.com and it is for the Cartridge Cutter by American Crafts.

OOOHHHH this was just what I was looking for but of course the big issue was shipping. How much was it going to cost me to order this at 50% off and the shipping fees. Well the first time this deal was sent out I passed it by. I started to look around at the stores here to do a price comparison. Well, let me tell you it was cheaper to order it online. So now to wait until they offered it again which they did at the end of Sept. so order it I did. Then the wait began for it to arrive, 14 days later it was here and it was the first package I have had customs open to inspect. I have been receiving packages from the states for the last 5 years and this was the first one. No biggie really as I understand the need for them to check to make sure it is not something sinister LOL.

It is quite large, the surface is 8x14 maybe a little larger then that and the pull out ruler to measure larger pp goes up to 15". Very steady so will not more on you, I have used it on a verity of surfaces and no movement at all. The cutting guide flips to the side and again holds that pp well. It comes with 3 blades, a straight cutting blade, scoring blade and a decorative wavy blade with room to store 3 more blades on the cutter. The nicest part is that the blades are in a cartridge so are safe to handle. They are easy to pop in and out. The blades pop in to the cutter under the area that you push on and glade to cut the pp. The cuts are nice and straight and no pp tears as of yet :D . Now the one disadvantage I have found is that it is not a sit at your desk and cut your pp cutter. If you do not keep a continuous downward pressure on the cutter handle it will not cut your pp all the way through. Also when you use the extended ruler you are missing cut marks/points so you guess a little. Meaning on the main board it ends at 6 and when you open the ruler it starts again at 8 so you are missing all those marks in between. Not a huge deal as those are unusual sizes to make cuts at.

Over all I would recommend this cutter and that it is worth the price. I have not pulled out my Cricut trimmer since this one has arrived which tells me I have found the perfect one for me. I hope this helps out some of you as you look at the different cutters out there and would like a non partial opinion.

Happy Crafting and God Bless.Drayiahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08898527598865286663noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5838134730875219357.post-12041267083463994672012-10-23T01:00:00.000-06:002012-10-23T01:00:10.879-06:00Avonlea Card WorkshopThere are 2 Card workshops in this Fall/Winter catolog. Each one makes 15 cards, 5 each of 3 designs. As I already had a lot of the inks and markers I might need for the Avonlea Card Workshop that is the one I started with.

Again here is their photo of the finished product, now on to my not so perfect cards LOL.

The brown CS is stamped over and over to make a patterned sheet. I like the little bit of purple that is used to frame up the sediment. It was stamped using Slate and Smokey Plum. Some sheer grey ribbon with rhinestones on the ends to had some interest.

You can just see the grey CS that is stamped, this time randomly to make a patterned strip. Smokey Plum ink for the sediment and the stamped flowers. Again the grey sheer ribbon and random rhinestones to add glitter.

Now on to the card that taught me something new :D . I love CTMH acrylic stamps because it is easy to line up the stamps when doing a multi layered one or making your own patterned paper. The one thing I learn here was you can bend them too. That stamped boarder is a long straight piece that I curved and made into a swag idea. So cool and would never of thought of that on my own. Have many of these that I can do this to so will be playing with that on other projects.

Now the kit is intended to only make the 15 cards but I had a lot of this paper collection left for the 3 different workshops I used it in. With the remains I made several of this card too. I inked the card in Slate then added all the different pps to it. I am glad I was able to get these all made as I am using all 4 cards as bag stuffers for a trade show I am doing on Friday Oct. 26.

Thanks for looking and onto the next post :D

God Bless you all.
They include a Stamp set design just for the WOTG, paper packet and embellishments. All inks, markers and other extras you need to have separately.

This Workshop is the Avonlea one, its papers are also featured in the August SOTM projects. All the workshops except the Cricut ones, has enough paper to make 3 different projects. This workshop makes 2 double page LOs and a Photo box.
Here is the Official art work. Now mine don't have pictures in them so you can at least see what it would look like once they are added.
Page 1 of the second double LO. Again all same techniques as the first set. What I have noticed is that each Workshop has a new technique to learn and add to your knowledge. Also its a great way for me to use papers and colours I would normally shy away from. I love colour and lots of it. Tend to find these boring but think they would be wonderful for old photos.
Now this excited me, I love to alter things. I downloaded the template for this to cut all the pieces and proceeded to alter the box. Next time there are several things I would do. I would of either inked the edges or matched a paint to the paper and painted it first. As this was a first try, and I prefer to go with the instructions the first time around I did what was written down to do. Again random stamping image, which gives it a neat look. Plus I like the tracing of the rub-on helps it stand out more.

Alright on to the next projects :DDrayiahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08898527598865286663noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5838134730875219357.post-29965600556284612912012-10-19T01:00:00.000-06:002012-10-19T01:00:16.808-06:00August SOTMBeen so busy with CTMH and sb.com making stuff for Stamp of the Month, Workshops on the Go and Swaps.

All products used in these projects are from Close To My Heart unless otherwise stated.

I am going to start with my first SOTM from CTMH for Aug. Unfortunately I don't have the picture showing you the stamp set as I have a new computer and did not transfer over that image :( It was a series of corner and embellishments stamps. At first I was not very excited by it, but once I started using it and made 3 different projects with it I had changed my mind.

First I started off with this card, sorry it is blurry. The paper package used is Avonlea. Its greys, blues and greens. Using one of the stamps from the set I used Slate ink to stamp the corners, the message is also stamped using Slate. I cut a slit in the grey card stock to fit the ribbon through. Then using Stickles Icicle I added some sparkle. Put some half pearls and called it done. Pretty quick card to make except for the little cut for the ribbon. The ribbon holds the card closed so it needs to be able to move.

Next is was onto a single page LO. The yellow ribbon was from my stash and I folded it to make it appear ruffled. Surprising it was easy to do. Using one of the corner stamps from the set I proceeded to make my own patterned paper. I have never done that before and I really like the look. I believe the ink I used was Pacifica. Cut and layer several pieces of paper and that great grey satin ribbon for the bottom band. Added a bling swirl and fussy cut a couple of leaves for the flower. Turned out great.

Last but not least, in fact it was my favourite item to make with this set. A display album. I use it to display the different Cards I have made for either SOTM or WOTG. Its very handy to have. Again I used a corner stamp and used the Slate colour to stamp in. Added my fake ruffled ribbon, different layers of paper to the circles. The scalloped circle and regular circle were both cut using the Cricut Artiste Collection only available through CTMH. Put on a couple of bling swirls, add a Prima flower in the middle to hid any flaws. Mod Pod to hold it all together.

I really like the fact there are several differt projects to do with each of the SOTM. It gives variety instead of the same old thing every time.Drayiahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08898527598865286663noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5838134730875219357.post-49624115684726490122012-08-25T07:20:00.000-06:002012-08-25T07:20:04.422-06:00MIA

CTMH had a promo for the month of August, when you sign up to be a consultant you get this bad for free. Now let me tell you I was impressed with this bag. Very heavy duty carry strap and you can also use it as a back pack. Well made and sturdy. I put all my customer supplies in it and there is still tons of room.

Now I loaned out all the cards I have been working so that a friend of mine could do the workshop I had this past Wednesday. Once they are back I will take pictures and make some blog post about them. I have also finished the Avonlea WotG and Bonus project so that needs to have pictures taken. But the one I am most excited about is the Halloween Party WotG that I have almost finished. It was so stinking cute in the catalogue I had to order it. Now I am doing a small trade show in October and I will be using it for a display. Hope I can get my name out there and find some customers and others to attend my gatherings. Here is crossing my fingers.
